We are a charming, small pousada with the coziness of a home. Good service and to do it well is our priority, and all guests are received with great care and attention.
Pousada Rubi was opened in December 2019 and during the renovation period we discovered that the façade doors and the small bricks belonged to the old fishermen’s house, with these elements being more than 100 years old. We decided for its maintenance and restoration to maintain the property’s personality and history, thus combining the rustic beach style with the modern, bringing charm and comfort to our guests.
The name was chosen to honor the grandparents of the current owner, who came together when they worked here in Abraão in a sardine salting factory, called Rubi and also because it is a jewel for the current owners with an old dream that came true of living in a quiet location.
Ilha Grande is a paradise with enchanting landscapes, transmitting peace and rejoicing the soul. And we hope to make your experience visiting us unforgettable.

A charming and century-old construction, which refers to the current owner’s caiçara roots, where the rustic and sophisticated style was incorporated into the decoration.
We have spaces such as garden, hot tub and sauna overlooking the mountains and the sea, to provide you with relaxing moments.
Our breakfast is very diverse with seasonal fruits, fruit juices, different kinds of bread, cheese, cold cuts, cakes, yogurt and cereals.
The rooms are cozy with light tones decor, queen size bed, split air conditioning, smart TV, sky cable programming, minibar, safe, solar heated shower and hairdryer.
We have wifi throughout the place and generator. Located near the center of Abraão, in Ilha Grande – Angra dos Reis RJ.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE SURROUNDINGS
Ilha Grande was recognized in July/2019 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With about 85% of the native vegetation cover well preserved, the area forms the second largest forest remnant in the Atlantic Forest biome.
Ilha Grande, with an extension of 193 km² , has 113 beaches of different sizes and characteristics with sheltered waters or open sea. Highlights for the beaches of Lopes Mendes, Caxadaço, Aventureiro, Parnaioca and Dois Rios. Most beaches have few inhabitants and some are very isolated.
For hiking lovers, there are trails with varying levels of difficulty, which lead to several incredible places such as: Lopes Mendes beach, Vila de Dois Rios, Cachoeira da Feiticeira, Pico do Papagaio, that is the second highest peak on the island, among others.
Vila do Abraão is the main point of arrival for visitors to Ilha Grande. A charming place with a tropical climate and structure for those who want to know the region. It’s where you can find most of the restaurants, mini markets, grocery stores, pharmacies, tour, transportation and diving agencies, etc.
Most establishments accept credit cards as a form of payment since there are no banks or ATMs on the island.
